Unhandled Exception
c0000005
Many of our Windows "Auto-Launch" programs are
considered "legacy" applications
by Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
If you access one of our CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs from a Restricted User Account
on
Windows XP, you MAY see this error message when the CD-ROM auto-starts.
|
Here are a few possible solutions:
|
- Browse the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to find the application
icon (it typically has a "projector" icon). You could
also make an alias on your desktop to this projector. This alias
will work fine when the disc is in the the drive.
OR
- Have your system administrator turn-off the "auto-play" feature.
You would then browse the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to find the application
icon (it typically has a "projector" icon). You could
also make an alias on your desktop to this projector.
OR
- Copy the entire contents of the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to a folder
on your computer. Then launch the program from this folder (browse
the folder to find the application icon. You could also make an
alias on your desktop to this projector.)
OR
- Ignore the error each time by closing the warning dialog boxes.
Then browse the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to find the application icon
(it typically has a "projector" icon). You could also
make an alias on your desktop to this projector.
|
ANOTHER POSSIBILITY that has NOT been
verified is to have the system administrator add a "compatibility
security template" to the restricted access group. This option
is still being researched.
